Why does computer not play audio.

Hi, i have this old computer and when i powered it up the sound did not work it only make a high pitch buzzing noise. i have tested the speakers and another pair of speakers with the computer. The motherboard is a Asrock 970 extreme 4. i have tried reinstalling the audio drivers but still nothing.

have you tried usb speaker ? Or maybe 3,5mm speakers ?

i will try it now.

click on the sound icon in the tray, and make sure the proper output is selected.

 

If you have an HDMI monitor, it'll default to that, speakers or no.
