Hey guys!

I'm looking for a new headset since I wanna try something new out. I am currently using the Asus Vulcan Pro which I've been happy about for more than a year. But I would like to try something else out now.

I am looking for headsets in the 60-80$ price range. I've been looking a lot on the G35 from Logitech and the G430 from them as well, however I have no experience with Logitech headsets.

The headset will mainly be used for gaming, but I like to hear a lot of music as well, so that is an important factor as well..!

Thanks in advance :)

depends on how important good sound in music is, but for gaming 100-200$ for good music 150-400, price makes a big difference to a point, one of the cheaper recommended headphones are the audio technica ath-m50, many recommend these, and you can get a great mic for 50$, but a all in one headset :/ sibiria v2 Linus recommended, he also recommended another also a Audio Technica in a video not long ago, worth looking at

Okay, that sounds decent. Music is a pretty high priority, but gaming is just a little more important. I don't think I'll need a 50$ mic since all I do is talking with friends on Skype. I am interested in this Headphones+mic combination if it's a better option than a all-in-one aka headset option.

And I have the ASUS Maximus VI Hero which comes with the SupremeFX sound card ( Don't know how big of a difference that does )

It's hard to compare prices to the USD since the prices on PC stuff is more or less 33% higher, but I am interested in the option of using headphones even though I may have to pay a little extra.

The  technica ath-m50 seems a little more expensive that i'd want to pay, but I would love som cheaper options. Remember, it's mostly for gaming

i just use valuta.se to change the currency, i just find it easier to use $ here on sites and such :)

those 150$ is only 880 DKK, and below that the music will hurt, but each to his own, but i cant really help you when the price goes too low :P im using v moda Crossfade M-100 which costs 300$ and looking to getting the Sennheiser HD650 in the future which costs 500$ :P

Ay a fellow dane! 'Sup man?

Anyway, have you considered spending a little more? They might not be very soundaccurate (is that a word? Now it is.), but the Razer Kraken Pros are a really solid headset.

If you want sound in a headset and you really don't care get the G430. I own them and i personally think they are brilliant for the price. The mic works well and i can hear footsteps in game. If that's what your after then they work well. they are very comfy in my opinion and are soft that covers the ears. They cut out most background noise enough for my GF to creep up and scare the hell out of me at night. My mates never complained about my mics and when i changed to this headset they commented how much better i sounded. Use your on board sound don't worry about a DAC a AMP and big PENIS extension as you don't have to have it.

If your an audio buff like most the guys on here they will suggest $200+ headphones with $50 mics that may sound better but at the end of the day they don't make you coffee and don't make you play games or listen to music better.

Im personally sick of audio guys saying don't buy G430 they are crap. Well guess what i have never listened to $200+ headphones and never will and i am not worried about it either. Please stop pushing expensive headsets down peoples throat when they cant afford it. If the audiophile guys can prove to me that $200+ headsets can double or triple my kill count from my g430 then i would upgrade to them. if it can't do that why bother.

Thats my rant over for now.

Great to see another dane here! I will probably stretch my budget with a bit and see if I can get a nice pair of headphones/ a headset. I have tried the Kraken Pro, but I found it a bit uncomfortable to wear, unfortunately..!

That's great to hear! I have never really used anything besides the ASUS headset that i'm currently using, so I don't really know a whole lot about better sound. I'll definately keep your post in mind when I buy. Thanks  :)

Too bad. Logitech and Corsair is what I would go for, if looking for a gaming headset.

You don't have pay hundreds of dollars to get proper headphones that make gaming headsets look/sound like children's toys. Superlux has a wide variety of awesome headphones at super cheap prices (around $40) such as HD-681 EVO and 668b. Then there's the Pioneer SE-A1000 for $55ish. As for microphone, $10 gets you a Zalman ZM-MIC1 clip-on mic that is as good as 99% of mics on gaming headsets. $30 upgrades you to ModMic and you can find Blue Snowflakes and Snowballs between $40 and $50.

THIS ^^ That Zalman clip-on mic is a very good product. Some of my friends have used it and for team chat it sounds incredible. At first I didn't even realize that my friends were only using a $10 mic. It sounds as good as if not better than a $100++ gaming headset. Tomorrow I am gonna get one and pair it with my Sennheiser CX-300ii earbud (at least for now until I have the money to get an ATH-M50).

The Superlux headphones are also said to be good both for music and gaming (well basically I think when it's good for music, it is also good for gaming but not always the other way around). I haven't personally tried any of Superlux products, but I saw Logan's video from TekSyndicate (google it if you haven't heard of TekSyndicate), and he seemed to be quite pleased with his Superlux headphones. AFAIK Logan is quite an audiophile himself and when he said something good about an audio related product then I believe it's gonna be good for most people.
