Network switch kills internet connection

I have a Netgear 5-port unmanaged switch (GS605) that I'm attempting to connect to my Nest Wifi.

The whole network ran flawlessly until I had to factory reset the Nest Wifi.

After I got my mesh network up and running, I tried to plug the switch in and it immediately killed the internet connection. Wireless network was still up, just no internet. I unplugged the switch and the internet connection returned.

I hardwire my computer directly into the Nest Wifi, but that leaves 3 devices with no hardwire connection.

Is this a setting with the router? The switch is unmanaged so it can't be that (I think). Maybe my NIC?

  1. Are you using a single Nest WiFi unit or several in mesh?
  2. Are you connecting the switch to the base Nest station or one of the satellite units?
  3. Can you try with another switch?
  4. Is there any firmware update for the Nest?
