Budget (including currency): $2000-2500 AUD

Country: (Australia)

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: PC will basically be pure gaming pc, no video rendering work or office work, needs to run most new games decently but not amazing.

Other details Peripherals are not required, old pc has bricked so any working PC is technically an upgrade, Looking to buy as soon as possible but willing to wait for few months for value/stock shortage and resolution 1080p at 144hz.

So my friend has been saving up for a computer for a few months, and his brother gave him a build and asked me to have a look through it, I personally didn't think it was a good build at all and don't want to see him get a bad deal. (Was basically 2 starter kits, Intel core i9 11900 with RTX 2060 with no M.2 or even 2.5 SSD, just a 2TB HDD and single channel RAM)
I feel bad just saying "Nah don't get that" without providing an alternative at all so I offered to help, but I am a little bit out of my depth because I am not up to date at all, and usually when I do a build for myself I spend at least 8 hours putting it together and I don't have that kind of time.

I'm really not sure how bad the AMD shortage it is, and whether it is just better value to go with intel even though value will probably not be as good, if so I wouldn't really know where to start with intel.
The availability of video cards is really throwing me for a 6 with the 3080ti just being announced and not really being able to find anything but a 2060 for $900AUD  when I got a 2070 S for $1100 almost a year ago.
Everything else I am kinda okay with but would still appreciate any help or suggestions.

Also never really dealt with getting anything second hand before, so not really sure how good/risky this is.

Appreciate any help, thank you in advance.

The 2TB ssd is a real luxury. Realistically it should probably be replaced by a 2TB hdd.

It is shocking these days. Although there are still some that believe gaming systems don't really need more than an hdd.
