Trusted Antivirus software?

Hello! 

I was wanting some other opinions of antivirus software that isn't a virus itself. I am currently using Avast but it is slowling giving me flashback of what Norton did to my grandparent and parents old computers.

Best antivirus you could get is just pure knowledge. Most antivirus programs doesnt do anything except eat resources and claim to have found problems. If YOU know what you should download, click on, open and what you shouldnt etc, then thats the best possible defense against virues. Windows Defender also works, not great but its way better than McAfee and Avast etc.
