HDMI Cec Adapter Question

Will this https://www.gorite.com/usb-hdmi-cec-adapter-p8-usbcecv1

(GoRite HDMI Cec Adapter) work for my needs. I have a custom built desktop pc (Gtx 1660), paired with a regular tv. All I want is the tv to power on and off when I turn the pc on and off. I think this is what I need but I wanted a second opinion before I blew a bunch of money.
