I have been slowly upgrading my gaming rig for several months and now I am ready to upgrade the memory. I am looking for a recommendation on a memory kit...

I am sorry if this post seems redundant because I know that this has been asked multiple times in the forums but i am having a hard time knowing how they apply to my specific case. I have often read that CL-16 3600Mhz was the “sweet-spot” for Ryzen memory. But that sentiment was from a while ago, heavily based on price at the time and was more for the 3000 series.  Given the current markets, is this still considered the sweet spot or would it be worthwhile to start looking at fast memory (say 4000Mhz)?  I would probably start with a 2x8GB kit and leave myself the option of getting a second 2x8GB kit later down the road.  (4 sticks is better than 2 for Ryzen right?)

Budget (including currency): Somewhere between $100 and $200 for a 16GB memory kit.  The majority of my parts were chosen because they could be purchased at a very good price either used or refurbished. I am fine leaving a few percentage points of performance on the table if it means saving a good chunk of money.

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: This specific build is almost exclusively used for gaming. There is myself and 3 kids so the game titles cover a wide range. I have been playing Titanfall 2, Mechwarrior 5 and M.A.S.S. Builder. The kids like Roblox, Minecraft, Fortnite, Rocket League but we have other stuff on their too (flying games, racing games, casual games (fall guys), first person shooters, CEMU, etc...

Other details:

My build:

Ryzen 5600X (OC to 4700Mhz)

MSI X570 Gaming Plus

4x4GB GSkill 2400Mhz RAM (i had this from my previous setup)

EVGA RTX 3070 (often run with mild overclock in Afterburner about +150Mhz for clock and +75Mhz for memory)

2 x  XPG NVMe drives

Corsair 850W HX psu

Thank you!
