MSI X470 Gaming Plus Max: Bristol Ridge & Carrizo

Putting this out there for other curious people to find.

I've tried both Carrizo and Bristol Ridge on my board, and both time it's acted as if the power button is disconnected... Strange behaviour for a board, but it does not mean the chip is bad!

The same board without a CPU does turns on and doesn't POST. It's only when an incompatible CPU is installed when it acts as if there's no power.

System works fine with Raven Ridge-2 and Summit Ridge.

You expected at least the CPU fan to max spin I think. That's common probably more so than the "dead as F" reaction from unsupported cpus.

For reference my Strix B450-I gaming only supports One single A6, the. A6-9400, Since this is excavator core, might as well be FX with iGPU. My Ryzen Athlon 200ge/220ge would eat it alive. So it's probably a good thing it didn't post up imo 😛
