I麓ve been using this laptop for games since 2018 a while ago it started to strugle with most games i was idling at 60 degrees (CPU) so im replacing the thermal paste on both the CPU and the GPU im also cleaning all the dust inside. Is there anything that i should care that might be reducing my performance in games i do have the latest bios and drivers. ty 馃檪

Probably try to use it in hard surface or even more better (imo) is to elevate the intake part from the any surface to increase airflow聽

A full re-installation of Windows, if you have the time. If not, just remove applications that you don't use anymore, and use DDU (https://www.wagnardsoft.com/) to uninstall your GPU drivers totally so you can freshly install the latest drivers.

Maybe get one of those laptop coolers that blow air into your laptop chassis?

If you have a lot of stuff running in the background that can use system resources so it will lag more. Open task manager and go to startup, then disable stuff you don't use. If you don't know what something is leave it enabled. Also you should reinstall Windows every once in a while. I personally do it once every year but there are mixed opinions on how often to reinstall it. Nvidia can sometimes make old GPU's slower in new drivers, so rolling back to old ones can help, but since it's a 2018 laptop I'd say it won't make a big difference.

Those coolers really don't do much. They keep the case cool, but the internals won't change temps. It's only useful if the laptop is too hot at the bottom.

Yeah, most of them aren't that effective. Anyhow, there are reviews on YouTube so you can find out which ones actually work. Here's one.

I don't think that really helps unless OP laptop is having very open intake like in the gaming laptop

The best suggestion in this thread so far. Especially on a 2018 install of Windows.
