there's wd digitial blue, red, green, black and whatever kinds of colours out there, but what does it actually say about the harddrive?

blue= normal use black =performance, red= for NAS, green= mass storage, purple= surveillance

Blue = mainstream (just like the Barracuda from Seagate)

Red = NAS,reliable

Green = quiet and slower,used for massive storage when you don't need speed (eg. when you have an SSD)

Black = Speed,NOISE and 5 year warranty.

They are optimized for NAS use and they'll be a little slower.They have very high access times compared to a blue.
