Put the screw back and nothing changed

Yeah then id just apply new thermal paste or scrape together the old one to a little dot in the middle. Also make sure the mounting screws are rock solid. They usually got springs on them, so just tighten them all the way.

Hi i'm new in the forum and I'm here because my system (specs below) after I clean it it's been overheating everytime I open up a game and spend 10 - 20 minutes playing Radeon software send me a notification telling me that my gpu exceed the max temperature.

Before I remove dust the gpu temperature when playing was 75 - 80 degree Celsius now it's always at 83

Note: the CPU temperatures got lower after the cleaning in contrast with the gpu

Specs

CPU: Ryzen 3 2200g

GPU: Sapphire Nitro RX 570

RAM: 16gb 2333mhz unbranded

PSU: 500w 80+ bronze cooler master

Case: azza crimson with 2 red fans in the front

OS: Windows 10 64bits

Well 83c isn't really bad for the GPU, id say you need to worry when its around 85+. Tho its clearly something wrong since the avg temperatures went up after cleaning.

First off, did you remove the gpu cooler (deep cleaning) or just dust removal with air etc?

Did you bump into it any way?

Do you know if the fans run slower or even start at all after cleaning? Might have broken them somehow, which would explain the temp increase.

Also, did you clean the ENTIRE system or just the GPU. You just wrote:

Yes, the fans start normally, yes i remove the cooler but dont change the thermal paste (i couldnt find in the store), no i dont think i bump it in any way.

the pc is a little quite after the clean so i check up the fans speed and  were normal. but i would check them again.

Note: i lose one of the backplate screws but i didnt think that's a reason for it

Thanks for the help

You would idealy change the thermal paste every time you open up your card, just to make sure its set evenly when mounting the cooler again etc. That could very well be the cause of your temp increase.

But since you cant really get any new thermal paste, the best thing you could do is take it apart once again, and use something like an old credit card to scrape togethere all the thermal paste to a nice little dot in the middle of the die.

But as stated, best thing to do is to order a high-quality thermal paste from amazon or an equivalent online store in your country.

Are you sure that the screw you lost is JUST for the backplate? And not something like a heatspreader for the VRMs? Some cards have their heatsinks go down to make contact with the VRMs. Those coolers also have extra screw holes for mounting pressure besides from the main die mounting.

Yeah then id just apply new thermal paste or scrape together the old one to a little dot in the middle. Also make sure the mounting screws are rock solid. They usually got springs on them, so just tighten them all the way.
