Crossfire 6850s

Hey guys,

 

With the gpu prices remaining so high above msrp, my sapphire hd 6850 is what I'm stuck with for the time being. I'm considering buying a second hd 6850 from eBay and crossfiring them. Will this even be doable with the legacy driver for these cards? 

 

I'm running a 10700k on a msi z490-a pro mobo, 16gb ddr4 at 3200mhz, and soon to be two hd 6850s on windows 10

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I've never ran more than one gpu in a pc.

You could. But man, crossfire and SLI are really just not great solutions. I suppose if it was the only solution, maybe? Try and get your hands on a gtx 970 or 980 for a good price?

Dont bother. Crossfire was super finicky back then and it was almost never a good experience, not to mention 1GB cars will already give you enough stutters due to lack of vram and adding a second card wont make it any better.

GTX 970s are going for $200+ on eBay at the moment. I've been trying to grab a low end card for a while now to tide me over until 3060tis are available for close to msrp, but I can't justify spending 3x msrp on anything

Wait.. crossfire won't combine the two cards vram?
