I just started a new build and am waiting form my GPU to arrive within the next 2 weeks. Here are my current parts;
CPU - i5 11400

MOBO - Asus TUF B560 Gaming Plus Wifi

RAM - Corsair 2x8GB 3600mhz CL16

1. Problem;

I have seen so many videos where people with none Z boards unlock the power limit of the CPU. But somehow i am unable to do that on my board, no videos to be found on how to do that on B560 boards.
Yet there are 11400 review videos where they are mentioning unlocking it on B560 boards. Anyone?

2.Problem;

Again i saw reviews pairing the 11400 and b560 with 3600mhz memory. Now the problem is whenever i enable XMP 3600mhz in bios and reset it,  the system wont boot and i get the mobo manufacturer screen where it tells me to go to the bios settings again. I than manually selected 3200mhz and it worked just fine.

So yeah, have i been an idiot by trusting in all the credible techtubers? Is there a work around?Should i just change the mobo with a Z one if thats the easiest solution?

There are apparently some sort of issues with b560.  Had to do with the spec being very conservative or something and some companies following it and some not.  The result was you can get a b560 board that could do that but it wasn’t a lot cheaper than a z series board or something.  It was quite motherboard specific.  I didn’t pay a bunch of attention because it doesn’t affect me personally.  Might have been a GN or a hardwareunboxed video.  Anyway they tested a bunch of them, and found that some were fast, some could be made to be fast anyway, and some were just irrevocably slower, and it didn’t necessarily have a lot to do with price.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

So it has nothing to do with me running it without a graphics card?

11400 has an iGPU in it.  It’s not a great iGPU even for iGPUs but it exists.  Given the way intel works it’s likely top end Xe isn’t even offered on that chip and gets saved for i9s where it will never be used or something asinine like that.  It honestly strikes me as kinda of weird.  The lowest end chip they make that is reliably capable of running games would be imho be a pretty good place to put their absolutely top end iGPU as one option.  The (small) upside to iGPUs is theyre if anything more compatible than discrete graphics cards.  I doubt the problem would be appearing from that direction.  As to where your problem is exactly I don’t know.  I’m not sure it’s possible to know at this point.  I’m just relating this thing I heard (and I didn’t pay a whole lot of attention so it could be flat wrong) it may be a thing worth looking into is all.
