i7 4790k

16GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM

ASUS h81m-plus mobo

gtx 1080

I can't remember what my PSU is without taking apart my PC but it's a well known brand and decent rating.

the build is roughly 2-3 years old at this point and had no issues up until now

No overclocks and fresh install of windows and it randomly shuts off whilst im using it, usually when I'm playing a game (doesnt matter what game) but has happened once when I wasn't playing a game or doing anything remotely taxing.

Event viewer is showing a "The iommu fault reporting has been initialized." report before an unexpected shutdown that sometimes triggers the anti surge protection in my motherboard and other times doesn't.

Its not a BSOD so no error message, just a random loss of power

Dose it require a hard reset?
