Good day

Im here for some information. I have a intel i5 6500 paired with a Amd Rx580 8gb GPU ,16gb ddr4 ram 2133mhz and i seem to get around 8% bottlenecking from getting some info running at 1080p res on medium/high settings in games.

I play games like GTA5 RP allot, csgo, rust, ark, cod warzone etc those tipe of titles and i usually get fps drops, stutterings, inconsistent fps, low fps etc. i looked and see in gta5 cpu uses 100% full load where the GPU

drops from 100% to like 40% then 80% then low and high spikes again.

So i presume this is definitely CPU bottleneck because my friend has a 4th gen i5 with 12gb ram and a slower gpu than a Gtx 1050 and he gets

around 20-30fps+ more than me on those tipe of titles etc. I reallised then my hardware overall is 10x better than his but i get way lower fps in games like GTA5 definitely

I want to know if it would make a difference in fps etc. if i get a intel i7 6th-7th processor as this will result in less than 2% bottlenecking, due to my motherboard just accepts 6 and 7th gen processors if it is worth it  or rather

just wait and do a GPU only, or a complete upgrade in the future as at this time i don't want to spend unnecessary money because of the RX580 8gb still performing well. Because im uncertain what to do thanx.

Most i7's I can find on the used market hover around 150$ which isn't exactly a great value, if you were to upgrade I would suggest going for a 10400+motherboard. Though the CPU your friend has is probably worse, unless maybe it's an i5 4690 or 4670, even then it wouldn't be by a significant amount. Have you checked to see if there's background processes hogging the cpu? Is/Are there program/s that take a significant amount of your resources? With how many launches there are out there, plus other software for peripherals and what not I wouldn't be surprised if some of that could hog some of your cpu. Also do you run the games at the same settings as your friend does (resolution, quality).

not quite, your gpu is in a best case scenario twice as fast and nearly worst case 50%. Ram is faster but that doesn't affect framerate much. CPU is probably not that much faster.
