Hi I am trying to use my old(er) hardware to build a pc for the kids. Minecraft, roblox and such (kids games)

The specs are as follows

R5 1600

Asrock x370 killer

16 gb 3000 ram

Msi 1060

I think the issue lies in the psu as it an off brand one and only has a 4 pin cpu power while the board has an 8 pin eps.

I have disconnected all storage to see if that was the issue and tried each stick of ram on its own in each slot. I have cleared cmos.

I have added a picture of the psu label as I dont really understand them. Can some one tell me if there is enough power for thus build please.

Thank you

Anthony

750W is actually enough for this spec, have you tried switching another PSU?, Maybe this PSU is broken, or there's a cable that you forgot to plug.

Psu works, I have it working with my old af amd build a 6600k apu

Try to do the build outside of the case on the motherboard box, and try to reseat all the connections, RAM, and maybe try the GPU out to see if the fans spin up.

However, there's no way that PSU is really 750w. Not 80+ at all, and no 750w psu has only a 4 pin.

In fact, I doubt many even 500w or 450w psus only have a 4 pin

Big nerd.

It fires up I just get absolutely no display ... gpu is tested working.

I'm thinking about buying a corsair 450w with an 8 pin eps on payday but I don't know if I'll be wasting my money.

... R5 1600

R5 1600 will pull at max load ~110W, 4 pin can provide up to 140W.
GTX 1060 also isn't that power hungry, uses about 120W at full load.
Neither your CPU nor your GPU will be at full load when booting up.
You have a single 12v rail on that PSU which can provide (on paper) up to 37A, P = I * V, so P = 37A * 12V = 444W
Your PSU should be able to handle those components, unless it is deffective.

Welp then it isn't the PSU, that CPU (AMD A8-6600K) draws roughly the same amount of power (~100W) and you will be wasting money on a PSU as in it most probably won't fix your problem.
That being said cheapo PSUs have a dark side, beside being very inefficient they can fail spectacularly (fire hazard).

Do you have the PC Speaker connected? If you do, are there any error tones being played? If not hook one up and listen.

Thank you I'll give that a shot tomorrow when I dig the computer back out
