New/First Time Build

Buy everything but the cooler and the operating system ASAP. Nothing here is all that bad in the current market conditions. Do you already have a high refresh rate or high resolution monitor to plug into? If not I found a decent one from LG (you can see the exact model in my profile) at my Walmart for $130.

Fuck you scalpers, fuck you scammers, fuck all of you jerks that charge way too much to tech-illiterate people.

Unless I say I am speaking from experience or can confirm my expertise, assume it is an educated guess.

Current setup: Ryzen 5 3600, MSI MPG B550, 2x8GB DDR4-3200, RX 5600 XT (+120 core, +320 Mem), 1TB WD SN550, 1TB Team MP33, 2TB Seagate Barracuda Compute, 500GB Samsung 860 Evo, Corsair 4000D Airflow, 650W 80+ Gold. Razer peripherals.

Also have a Alienware Alpha R1: i3-4170T, GTX 860M (≈ a 750 Ti). 2x4GB DDR3L-1600, Crucial MX500

My past and current projects: VR Flight Sim: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nathanpete/saved/#view=dG38Jx (Done!)

A do it all server for educational use: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nathanpete/saved/#view=vmmNcf (Cancelled)

Replacement of my friend's PC nicknamed Donkey, going from 2nd gen i5 to Zen+ R5: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/nathanpete/saved/#view=WmsW4D (Done!)

That monitor would be an upgrade for sure. I have an Onn monitor that my wife got me a few years ago, I know it does 1920x1080 but I believe the refresh rate is only 60.

Overall it's quite solid, I can tell you did a lot of research. I would however should mention that in any other market that GPU pairing would be quite bad to that CPU but considering the current market it does make sense even though it is overpriced. This system is a solid entry level but simply upgrading the GPU would easily make it a solid mid tier build.

Yep, Onn is I think Walmart's in house brand for very budget electronics. I just bought a 1080p60 monitor for my dad from Onn a month ago.

I don't play any of the games you mentioned, but I have the exact same model of SSD, and it is really good for any game that uses fast traveling, but even for me, who doesn't have a huge library, it is hard to keep it under 80% capacity. Like I even have 2.5TB of additional storage but because it is only worthwhile to save stuff like really old or indie games to it, it isn't being filled that much. Like I think I have used like 400GB of my additional storage, and most of that is backups of important stuff from the SSD.

Thank you. Ideally I'd love to have a 3060ti but I haven't had any luck in getting one in the last 2 months. On the bright side, I can get that 1660 super for $90 cheaper than what is listed on the parts list.
