i have a ryzen 5 3600 and a phantom gaming 4/ac i have no idea which bios i need to upgrade my cpu to gen 4 any help will be great

Please see the first recommendation in my signature and keep it in mind for the future.

 

There are multiple ASRock motherboards with the model name "Phantom Gaming 4/ac." I'm going to guess you're referring to be the B550 chipset model. 

 

The nature of your question remains unclear. Are you wanting to replace your Ryzen 3600 with a 5000-series CPU? If so, the CPU support list on ASRock's product page clearly says that the 5000-series chips are supported from BIOS revision 1.20 and onwards. 

 

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. yes i do have a b550 model but my ryzen 5 3600 does not work when i turn the pc on im guessing that the bios needs updating but i dont know if any of the the updates will do or i need a specific one

Any B550 board will support a 3600 out of the box. Those boards came out a full year or more after the 3600 did. Your issue is not BIOS-related.

so what would you recommend i try doing, im new to building pcs and dont really understand them that much

 

i dont have a gpu installed yet as there way overpriced atm will that have something to do with it?
