It really depends on how many rails and volts it delivers through those rails and also for what periods of time. All hardware ages but PSU capacitors are not something that you should be worried about making a substantial drawback in rail performance simply because of aging. A 5yr old 600w (average) PSU being run for 24 hours a day probably wont see a 10% power decrease unless there are extenuating circumstances. The efficiency rating for a PSU can also hint at how long the PSU can operate at full potential because the higher the efficiency, generally the higher the component quality and that longer the lifespan.

Do PSU's really lose their there wattage due to Capacitor aging?

I had a psu that came with the case that had no 80 + efficiency or anything and the psu had caused the gpu to die in around 5 years because of the psu losing its efficiency.

I have a hx1000, 7 years old, still going strong, was way overkill before and still is even if it lost 30% of it s power,

don t worry about it if you got a xecent quality psu.

If it s about your nas you re probabely not loading it at all.

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.
