SSD Help, Please urgent

Hi I just bought a ssd presuming it would just be for my os so I went ahead and bought one I have put windows 8 on it and it works fine but I want to be able to use my 1tb for the programs and my 120gb ssd wont even hold my games let alone the programs so how can I use it so the shortcuts on my desktop launch from my 1tb ?

When you put a program on the computer at the install stage you change the default install location to a folder on the other hard drive.

 

same thing with steam, when you click on a game to install it will ask you where you want to put it.
