New PC build

Planning a new PC build

The CPU will be AMD Ryzen 5 5600x or INTEL Core i5-11600K. Since they are both similar in performance my selection will depend on which motherboard that I can afford with my budget will be better. The PC will be mostly for gaming.

With my budget I was thinking of this ones:

- for INTEL Core i5-11600K  -  MSI Z590-A PRO, Gigabyte Z590 D

(or if you can suggest another one up to 200$)

- AMD Ryzen 5 5600x  -  ASUS TUF Gaming B550-Plus,

                                         ASRock B550M Steel Legend,

                                        ASRock B550 Extreme4,

                                        MSI MAG B550M Mortar ,

                                        Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE V2,

                                         Asus Prime X570

What graphics card will you use?

The GPU for now (until the prices stabilize) will be my old AMD R9 200

Not an expert but I think most of the Z590 boards are a bit overpriced and don't offer that much, so B550 >  Z590 imo, plus you can upgrade to a better CPU with the AM4 socket later if you want.  I think the TUF B550 is a pretty well-rounded board but I as a personal preference I don't like the yellow highlights lol

11600K over the 3600 Any day of the week. If the 11600K is too much then go 11400 and B560, still will easily outperform a 3600

i wasn't comparing their performance just that i thought z590 was more expensive with mostly useless features while b550 has just about everything you'd need for a first build - i would've compared b550 and b560 but he didn't list any b560 boards that he was considering

What is useless about Z590 that isnt on B550

Get the 11600k and go for a B560 board if you want to keep prices lower. AM4 does have a better upgrade path, but you'd be losing out on a decent amount of performance today, and by the time you'd want to upgrade, there's gonna be a lot of better chips new that would be more worth the money. The ASUS Strix B560 board is a pretty good board for that chip, especially if you don't care about overclocking, for about $175. If you really want to go AMD, get the ASRock B550 PG Velocita. Ton of features for $170, as well as being very well built for the price.

Sadly Asus strix B560 in my country its 298USD and ASRock B550 PG Velocita 270usd a way to much for my budget

things like extra rgb features, two gen 4 pcie and m.2 slots instead of just 1 gen 4 and 1 gen 3 - no one is gonna use two gen 4 graphics cards or m.2 ssd's on their first build so why pay like $100 extra for that
