Rocket Control Panel connection error

Thinkpad T14 AMD

When I check for new firmware using Rocket Control panel, I get "Connection Error; Network error. check your firewall"

I can run it no problem on my desktop. So unplugged network cable from my pc and put it in my T14. I still get the error. That tells me the issue resides somewhere in my laptop?

I turned off the windows defender and firewall to see if I still have the problem. It still exists, though those are turned on, on my desktop.

What gives?
