I could use some help with this!

i say if / when you go with the i9 you occupy all four slots so that way , i think , you can do more multitasking with less load on the ram going input output-wise. (i am in no way an expert fyi)

i5-9400f

corsair 16gb (2x8) kit + 4x1 gb microsoft stick both 2666

asrock b350m pro4 lga 1151

intel ax-210 wifi card

msi rx 580 8gb

nzxt h510 airflow case white

650w thermaltake gold

512gb nvme

The i9 has no quad channel. The improvement will be small (dual vs single rank)

Thank you. I thought the i9 ran only in dual channel.

yea , BUT if you do (from what i know) occupy all dimm slots your ram will have a lesser load on it , the 9900k does not support quad channel (thanks google)

i would probably do this

image.png.85213cb853c6dd990ec6b4ce02994d62.png

i9: best gaming chip out of the bunch, so best RAM goes to it

3600x: should do just fine at 3000 on 2R 3000MHz

2600x: should be able to handle 1R(?) 3000MHz

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
