Alright so I've finally decided on what parts I'm gonna buy for my PC and I was wondering if you guys think this is s good budget build? Or would I run into issues? Gonna be mainly used for 1080p gaming on games like GTA Online and regular stuff.

Also what's the difference between fan hubs, fan splitters and fan controllers?

CPU: Intel Core i3-9100f

CPU FAN: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO

MOTHERBOARD: Asus Prime B365M-A

RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB(2x8GB)

SSD: Samsung QVO 870 1TB

HDD: Seagate Barracuda

GPU: RX 580 (Probably gonna upgrade to a 5500 XT later on)

CASE: Deepcool Matrexx 30

it's a rather odd list to say the least. 9th gen isn't really a good idea when chips like 11400 exist with a huge IPC increase. I can create a new list for you, I'd stay away from LPX as its generally overpriced and H212 has a poor performing bearing on the fan as well. Whats your budget and what kind of games will you be playing

I do not advocate a QLC SSD as your boot drive, as the wear and tear of it can be very apparent even just for windows use. Consider something like WD Blue 3D, Crucial MX500, or 860/850 EVO instead.

Why not the 10100F with a B460, or even better a 10400/11400F with a B460/560 board? Those will offer you better 1080p performance than the 9100F.

No. Back in the day where DDR4 is in its infancy its good, but nowadays with how crucial ballistix, Gskill ripjawz V, and hell, even Team and Patriot offerings have gone better and cheaper over the years, its both ass value and ass in quality. So consider those first 2 brand i mention.

I wish there was a way to +1 a reply. I completely agree with everything in this message, 11400/B560 will provide a huge performance increase compared to the 9th gen route while also maintaining solid price/performance. 10100 and B460 is another viable route if you want something a bit cheaper. As far as QLC goes it's not that great in longevity or general use. There are better options like any SM2263 drive (mx500 or vulcan) or even some nvme/m.2 drives such as the MP33. As far as I know, LPX uses a mix and match array of dies and is frequently known to have trouble hitting xmp on systems, not to mention its absurd pricing. There are better kits such as what Claire mentioned, GSKILL Ripjaws is a great kit (Ballistix 3200C16 is also a good option) If I remember correctly, they're both micron rev e?

Ive seen ripjaws with bad bins on reddit, but all Ballistix pretty much use micron E or B. If you want full blow quality assurance on gskill, TridentZ Neo exclusively use Samsung B as far as i know.

My budget's around 800 US Dollars. The usual games I'm gonna be playing are GTA Online, NFS, Halo, and online FPS games like TF2 and Battlefront 2. Can you also recommend an AMD rig? Thanks

for this budget a 10100 will be a better choice. any reason you're going AMD? the 10100 is pretty much the best p2p in its price point as of now

Ok thanks, I was just curious on what an AMD build would look like. Besides the cpu, motheboard, ram and ssd what would you recommend i change too?

30$ over, but it should be capable enough for 1080p gaming. For 70$ more you can get yourself a 10400F which is more future resistant.

I would use the IGPU for now until you can get a 3060 at around MSRP. But if you are in the rush for a PC now, you can switch it up for a 5700(XT or Non XT variant) or 1660 Super/Ti.

dont really see the point of a 480GB sata ssd and a 1tb hard drive when you can get an mp33 1tb for 10 usd cheaper
