So the motherboard i am going to buy had a Realtek alc1220 but there are cheaper motherboards with a lesser soundcard. I currently have an XLR mic that gets powered by my Rode audio interface. Idk if an audio interface does something to audio quality but does it really matter if i get a good audio card like the alc1220 or no?

i am an artist and ofcours i want the best of the best sound possible but if it is unnoticable then i do not care about it and would like to save some money

If you're an audiophile and want high quality audio, then investing into a high-end sound card from ASUS/EVGA/Creative Labs would be great and up to you. On-board audio sounds pretty good and actually the Realtek ALC1220 Codec is on my motherboard and sounds great.

Depends on your use case,if your just using your output for games, movies and music the stock output should be fine, if your into audio recording, editing, mix and mastering you'll need a separate interface, which there's a whole world of difference audio interface for different application needs quality, latency, number of input outputs etc...

What are your needs?

Ryzen 5800X3D(Because who doesn't like a phat stack of cache?) GPU - 7700Xt

                                                           X470 Strix f gaming, 32GB Corsair vengeance, WD Blue 500GB NVME-WD Blue2TB HDD, 700watts EVGA Br

~Extra L3 cache is exciting, every time you load up a new game or program you never know what your going to get, will it perform like a 5700x or are we beating the 14900k today? 😅~

For music depending on your needs you should look into focusrite and presonus interfaces as they usually have the best price to performance and have a wide range to choose from
