Static through laptop headphone jack

AMD A10-9600P

I have a new ASUS ZenBook, a brilliant machine, but with one issue; I get static from the headphone jack, regardless of what pair of headphones I use. It's not a deal breaker, as it is rather quiet, especially when audio is playing, but it is very irritating for a machine that I spent over £1000 on. I've used the internal speakers and my AirPods through bluetooth with zero issues. If I mute the output, then the static stops. It is slightly better than it was the other day, so hopefully that is a good sign. I would be extremely grateful if anyone knew of a fix for the static?
