RGB help!!!

I want to build a pc with rgb fans and an asrock b450 steel legend with rgb on the io cover.  I would like effects like gradient but polychrome doesn't have them.  so i want to download openrgb but it says that the asrock motherboards only have effect modes and no direct modes.  What does this mean?
