UPDATE: with further testing, if i switch to a hdmi cable the screenshots look normal so i dont know what the issue is and you probably wont be able to see it either

UPDATE 2: added 'better' photos. Photo 1 is jagged with display port and Photo 2 is normal with HDMI.

When I select 165hz in NIVIDA control Panel (what my monitor is rated at) my display becomes really sharp and jagged? Is there a fix for this?

The photos don't seem to do it justice but it is very noticeable. It never used to look like this.

I unplugged the DisplayPort cable and tried a different one and it didn't fix the issue?

Thank you.

I honestly can't tell from the screenshots.

But I had sort of the same experience on my monitor when I set it to 120hz.

You get used to it.

its very annoying because it used to look better and now it looks really bad

First of all, what exact monitor do you have?

Try setting it to 144Hz and see if that resolves your issue.

(Many monitors are marketed with 165Hz as OC(!), that means it's not guaranteed to work flawlessly when running at this refresh rate. Setting it to it's native (likely 144Hz) refresh rate might solve your issue.)

Edit: For reference, i have a LG 27GN950 that is marketed as 160Hz, but only as OC and it's native refresh rate is 144Hz. When setting it to 160Hz in some games - namely Borderlands 3 - the picture was VERY blurry until i went into the graphics settings and swichted to something lower and then back to 4K. Had to do this every time i started the game. When running the monitor at 144Hz instead, this problem doesn't come up at all.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.
