Hey All!

Probably the wrong place for this question, but I am not sure where else to put it.

I am selling an unused Seasonic 650W PSU I purchased back in December. I have a buyer, but they want a copy of my receipt/invoice in order to activate the warranty. Is that information required to activate a warranty? Is providing that information to a second-hand buyer pretty standard when re-selling a PSU? I don’t want to prevent the buyer from obtaining a warranty, but I would prefer not giving someone all that personal information if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Transfer of Warranty

Seasonic offers transferable warranty for new purchases made on or after September 1, 2012 as long as the product is in its original factory condition and retains all the original factory labels and stickers. If you purchased your power supply prior to this date, and you are not the original owner of the unit, please contact our customer services.

The transfer of warranty will not alter the original length of warranty available for the product in its geographic region. The new owner will be requested to present the initial (original) purchase receipt to apply for Seasonic’s RMA services.

If your receipt has your personal information, blank it out and provide that to the buyer. If you want to be sure, contact Seasonic support.

Hey @Universes! Thanks for the reply!

I was thinking of blanking it out too. Thank you.

A receipt is needed for warranty.  But you'll need to ask Seasonic if the name/address can be removed.  It's not a bad question.  You could tell Seasonic that you moved or you just would rather not share that information with them.
