Need better (possibly?) CPU on this mobo

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-B150M-D3H-rev-10/support#support-cpu

It's a modest system, currently sporting an I5-6500 (4c/4t) I'd like to go up to 4c/8t, would be buying used of course.

Main use is for LightRoom/PhotoShop.

What would you upgrade to, CPU-wise?

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

I dont think you will get a better new CPU at that price, the one you have costs $235 on Amazon, but if you can find a used 7700K or something at that price I see no reason to not get it.

If you want me to answer, please use the quote function or tag me. I dont get notified unless you do

Yes, used is perfectly acceptable

Only one way to go really. 7700 support is right there with F20 bios. But personally, i dont think the power delivery is up to the task.

Not to mention the price tag of the CPU (even used...)

May stick with the i5-6500 then.

Oh well...
