New Builds Not Showing Any Signs Of Power

Loozher

Okay, so yesterday i swapped out some parts in my pc for these one,

MSI B550 TOMAHAWK

RYZEN 5 3600

KRAKEN X63 NON RGB

I'm 99% sure i've got all the power cables connected, everything in correctly

But theres no LED on the motherboard to indicate that it's getting power, and all the case switches are connected correctly, i made sure of it.

I dunno if it's my psu ( CORSAIR CS550W ) thats the problem, i can hear the little noise of electricity you get, but i dont hear the fans on the PSU startup or anything.

Have i got a dead PSU? MOBO?

( I took the precautions when building the MOBO, on the box, not on carpet ETC )

This is also my first build, go easy

Try these steps, in this order:

  • Try jumping the PSU to turn on to check if the PSU is dead https://www.silverstonetek.com/downloads/QA/PSU/PSU-Paper Clip-EN.pdf
  • Check the front panel connectors on the motherboard if you've used the wrong pin or have the connectors reversed. Try shorting the power switch pins on the motherboard with something like a metal screw driver
  • Try reseating the RAM
  • Try reseating the CPU
  • If you still have your old components, test again with the old components to see if they work
