Linux On SSD

Hi, I have 2 Pci-e ssds on my an715-51. I have an option in my bios to set it to ahci, rst, rst with premium. I currently have it as rst.

I have the urge to install linux as a dual boot on my drive but, the drives don't show up in the installer.

When i turn it to ahci, the drives show up in linux live boot, but dont boot into windows, and get stuck in a bootloop.

when turned to rst/premium, it just doesn't show up in live boot of linux or setup installer.

1.any way to get both either on ahci or rst?

2.Is it harmful for the ssd to set the controller to ahci?

3. just changing the controller to ahci gets stuck in a bootloop, would i need to format my drive to successfully do so, or can i just switch somehow?

4.can linux be used in rst mode because i would not want to format, but can if it is the only choice.
