PC Build Finalizing

Budget: CA$1,200 roughly

Country: Canada, ON

Usage: Some games here and there, mostly development programs (blender, photoshop, visual studio), always having tons of programs open at once, and a few VMs.

Other details:

  • My current computer (hand down)

    Model: Dell XPS 8700
    CPU: core i7-4790 @3.60 4-cores 8-threads.
    GPU: STRIX RX 460 O46 GAMING
    MEMORY: 16gb ddr3 1600mhz
    MOBO: Dell 0KWVT8

    OS DRIVE: Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB M.2

    STORAGE: 1.8TB HHD 72000rpm
    PSU: (unknown) 650w? 

 

  • I plan on getting a 3060ti or 3070 when they become available.

  • I use 2 and sometimes 3 monitors.

 

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could look over my part list before I go ahead and buy everything (planning to buy everything within the month or so).

Looks pretty good, I wouldn't spend anywhere close that much on that CPU and the case isn't the best for airflow, one with a mesh front panel would be better. 

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything. 

 

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

MSRP for the 5600x is like CA$374 (I could be wrong), so around $60 overpriced. I was looking at the Ryzen 7 5800x since it looks like its not as overpriced but it doesn't come with a stock cooler so I'm not sure its worth the money for me.
