When I connect my computer to the internet I get the bsod, which then says DPC watchdog violation. Please help!!!!

Step one is update your drivers I think.  Might not work.  DPC is deferred  procedure call, and watchdog is the windows bug checker.  Implies Something or other got corrupted.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did the check disk through command prompt but that did nothing. What drivers should I update if it blue screens when I connect to the internet?

I don’t know.  Could be just about anything.  Windows has a bunch of levels of reinstall now that I’m not very familiar with.  I don’t know what they do.  Using the appropriate one of this would also be on the list.  You’ve likely got bad software somewhere, according to the report.  Because you got a BSOD there will likely be a file of the history of the crash, which I have heard referred to as a mini dump, that may or may not have more specific info. Posting that along with your system specs could likely interest someone with more knowledge than myself (something fairly common around here) to have a look. All I can tell you is what I think the thing means.

I think it’s likely software corruption, and It’s either OS level or below.  Computers today aren’t windows machines, they’re windows compatible machines and they have their own software on the BIOS and CMOS possibly elsewhere as well.  I don’t know.
