Microphone doesn't work

Hello there,

 

i recently got a new pc and everything works fine, the only problem i have is the audio.

 

My motherboard is MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PRO CARBON. 

My headset is a Sennheiser GSP 301

 

So now regarding my problem, i hear everything fine as before with my old pc.

The only issue is my mircophone. It is really quiet, i literally have to pull the mic in front of my mouth and when i hear myself speaking it just cuts off and sounds "scuffed".

On that note the headset still works completely fine on the old pc.

 

- Already adjusted the microphone sliders in the settings to the max and it doesn't improve anything.

- Re-installed Realtek like 5 times already and nothing works,

- Used an USB-adapter for the jacks.

- Tried different ports on the pc front and back.

 

Would using a wireless Headset help with my problem?

Is there anything else i can try?

What headsets would you recommened so i can work around the problem.

Hey, 

 

i tried this exact External Adapter already and sadly it didn't help.

Had the exact same issues with it.
