SO there is no difference from 1080p on 1080p from 1080p on 4k.

There is a slight difference but it is subjective from person to person. It all depends if your eyes will be able to pick it up and how close you are to the display. I, myself, have very picky eyes and I can pretty much detect the smoothness of an image.
