Budget (including currency): under 800$ usd

Country: United States

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: would like to browse on the internet and be able to play destiny 2

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I still need mouse and keyboard(but I will not include that in budget I would just like some recommendations for m&k) but I already have a 27in Alienware monitor with 240hz and 1ms response time. I would like to be able to play destiny 2 with at least 140hz and 120fps

thanks I’m advance

(I would like my case to be white if possible)

I would say a i5 10600 for the CPU, I bought one under 200$ and it has been excellent and if you can't find a GPU at good price then that would work for now, now GPU related I would say that you should try to find a 1660Ti or 1660S, they are actually really expensive (1600$ i think) so do not buy one it not 300$ or under

For some reason, PCPartPicker is extremely slow for me, so I'm going to list out some of the components, at the budget end, it's better off going for intel.

So for CPU: i5 10400

Mobo: a good B460 motherboard (from Gigabyte or MSI or Asrock)

Ram: 3000 MHz 2x8 gb Crucial Ballistix memory

Storage: 500 GB SN550 from WD (boot drive), and a few TB's of 7200 rpm HDD from Seagate.

PSU: CX550 or 500 depending on the graphics card.

I'd suggest not buying a GPU immediately, using the integrated graphics for sometime until you snag one at MSRP, or a second hand card.

Now, if you ARE able to get one at a reasonable cost, get the 10400F, you will save a few bucks. Although I'd recommend waiting.

PS: If you want you could also go for the 11400 and a b560 motherboard, if you end up not buying a graphics card right now. It will be a better cpu and will probably have better integrated graphics.

The GPU is essentially the graphics card, that's one of the most essential component for gaming on a PC. The prices of Graphics cards are extreme right now because of a global chip shortage, and high demand due to Covid. So it is generally advisable to wait until the prices drop to normal, and in the meantime, make do with the integrated graphics processing unit inside the CPU. It is not as powerful as a graphics card, but at least, like that you can wait till you get your hands on one.

If you noticed, the 10400F comes without an integrated GPU, so you need an external graphics card to get display output to the monitor. People generally buy that to save a few bucks as they will also be buying a GPU along with it. But that won't be the case, if you decide to go with my suggestion. So, I recommended the 10400.
