wonky ethernet port

My computers ethernet connection seems to go out sometimes and I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the position of the cable because it reconnects when I reposition the cable. I tried the cable on another computer and it worked completely fine for the little while that I tested it in different positions so I don't think the cable is the issue. But when I look at the ethernet port of my motherboard all the pins are completely fine, not bent at all, what else might be the issue? maybe the latch is bad?
