So this is a bit of a weird issue. In december this random sound byte started playing on my computer, at always the same volume, same length of time, same exact sound. To best summarize it, it sounds like a zipper getting zipepd up but distorted and plats for a half second. I did a ton of trouble shooting where I used different headsets, used the 3.5 jack, uninstalled audio drivers 8 different ways, reinstalled, messed around with audio settings for ages and ages, reinstaleld windows updates, reinstalled nividia drivers to no avail. I was only able to fix the issue by wiping my SSD with my OS on it and starting fresh. This fixed the issue and now, 4 1/2 months later the issue is randomly back out of the blue with no warning. Same exact sound, speed, etc. I am at my wits end dealing with this and I get find any info online with issues like this so I was hoping I could find something here. Did I get a bad copy of windows? Did I have a bad mobo, gpu, SSD? I have looked in volume mixer to catch what is making the sound play but it shows up under "Devices" so I have literally no clue.

My computer has gone through no changes recently and the only signifcant thing that happened was the sound played as I went to hit play on Battlefield 4 and Origin launched. Only other thing I can think to add is that my CPU is overclocked and I use dragon centre to control clockspeed/fans. Only other thing to note is that the first time it happened, Nahimic and A-volute was forcefully installed on my computer the same day though update and I can see it running on my computer now.

Never hard of A-Volute, from a quick search it looks like its part of the sound drivers? Though your motherboard has two options for sound drivers and its Realtek Universal (includes that Nahimic thing) and the standard Realtek HD driver. What I would suggest is to remove any sound driver and install the HD driver. If you see windows install these again, try to rollback the driver from Device manager (Sound, video and game controllers > Realtek (R) Audio (or something similar). Hopefully that way Windows will remember to not forcefully install sound drivers again.

Also that sound thing... creepy.
