Surface Pro vs Surface Pro 2

This surface pro is going for $600 (128gb) while the surface pro 2 is for $1000 (128gb as well). Is it worth it to pay the extra ~400 to get the pro 2? I'm heading back to school so the extra savings would be helpful but debating if I will need the CPU/GPU upgrade and longer batt life. Thoughts?
