ryzen 5 1600 af Which do I choose ?

So my friend has bought the AMD Ryzen 1600 AF and doesn't want to buy a new model like a 3600 . So he doesn't know with which GPU he has to pair it with . He is thinking about an RX 5500XT 8gb model . Do you guys think this is good or is it going to be a cpu bottleneck ? 
What do you guys think that he should pair it with ?

The R5 1600AF is fine

Well we kinda need the rest of the system as well. If he has 8Gigs of 2666 CL20 basic RAM this GPU really would be just sitting around killing time. Also what games at what FPS he wanna play? 1080P at medium to high details, at 60FPs, sure no problem. 1080p at 144 Hz G-Sync/Freesync - forget it. There is more to CPU performance than just pure clock frequency and core numbers.
