Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me out here. I moved my PC case from the floor, under the desk, onto my desk. The reason for my PC being on the floor was because the fans are so damn loud!

CPU Cooler: Artic Freeze II (2 Fans)

Case: BeQuite DX500 (https://www.bequiet.com/en/case/1854)

CPU: AMD 3600 (very slight OC with EZ Tune)

So ever since new this this has been loud. I picked the case and the cooler based on the recommendations that they were quiet so I'm really unsure what is wrong here. Fans being used are BeQuiet Pure Wings, the ones that came with the case (x3)

Rear Fan: Sucks air out

Top Fan (Rear): OFF

Top Fan (Front): Sucking air in

CPU Rad (Front Mounted) Sucks air out of case

The fans are never quiet, its not as though the thing gets hot and the fans ramp up. It's more like there is a constant low humming of the air moving, as though the fans are spinning too fast.

No dust in PC case. No dust in fans!

I suspect I have configured something wrong somewhere!

Thanks

You should try setting a manual curve.

First, go to the Advanced Mode and to the "Monitor" Section. There is a button in there for calibrating the fans. The motherboard will find the minimum voltage/PWM signal for each fan. Once you do that, you can go back to the EZ mode if you want, or stay in advanced mode a change the fan curve settings.

I tried your suggestions and it didn't make any difference. Interestingly I couldn't adjust the chassis fans manually, well I could, but I couldn't lower them from 50% speed. See pictures below.

Just now, RaggedCorners said:

Yes - The option at the top of the first picture.

It took about 45 seconds to complete.

If they are 4-Pin, PWM fans, then you can switch them to PWM mode and try the tuning again. If they are 3-pin, non-PWM fans, then you can switch them to DC mode and try the tuning again. You might have to save settings and reboot for those changes to stick before re-running the tuning.

Otherwise, you SOL. Your fans have a high (and noisy) startup voltage.
