Budget (including currency):  €900-1000

Country: The Netherlands

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: MMO's (FFXIV / WoW (harder ingame content), Elite Dangerous, Destiny 2, some newer releases (Cyberpunk maybe when they fix it again)

Monitors: I have been using an Predator X34P and 2 older Alienware AW2310's , will probably reduced it to just one of them.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Last week there was a bit of an oopsie and while im still narrowing it down (test kit arrives today), its seems i got a broken/faulty MB, PSU and or CPU.

I might as well upgrade some parts and while in the past I had some local shop(s) put my systems together, because I don't trust myself after 15 years ago i couldn't even replace an RAM stick without burning my motherboard out, with most of them bankrupt or hard to reach due to covid restrictions, I might as well take the dive and just do the upgrades myself.

These are the parts I still have left (taken mostly from my old shopping list and what I added in between)

Asus GTX1080 TI Turbo 11G
Corsair Vengance LPX 4 x 8GB

Kingston SSDNow UV400 240 GB x2

Samsung 970 EVO 1 TB

This the list off parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4qwZ3Z

Its been adjusted to what is available around here within a reasonable time frame as I am using an older system at the moment and that seems to be sitting on borrowed time (one of the main reasons I upgraded to a new system back in 2017).
I might still go with an extra 250/500GB EVO to do a new clean install of Windows 10 as I don't want to lose data i have on the other drives. There is a desire for an extra M.2 slot for that drive or a higher capacity in the future. The motherboard choice isn't so much for the RGB lighting but the internal sound card build on it and I want to upgrade to an normal ATX size from mini ATX
I had to educate myself over the years about everything and realize I made some questionable choices about my hardware choices, so please I would appreciate any advise on this current planned build

These are the parts that are most likely broke/faulty and I am not sure I want to re-use them, even if I narrow the problem down to one of these:
ASUS B150M-A/M.2, s1151

Corsair CX650M
Intel Core i7-7700

Z390 with 9700K pretty much gonna lock you down, upgrade path wise. You should go for 10700K (or i5 10400F for that matter, still more physical cores than 7700K) with a B460 board, or Ryzen 5 5600X with B550 board (Im particular to Strix B550-F from Asus)

I probably should have mentioned if i buy the parts in the list I posted, locally it would come to a rough $950.

And yeah upgrade wise I am locked down, but I rarely upgrade my CPU mostly my GPU.

I guess I am getting older, I dont play the best of the best off the latest game releases that often anymore, so I wonder if some my choices are not also overkill.

PCPP has an nl parts listing too, so here's my estimation on the zen path:

And imo, the PSU is a tad overkill but i am starting to prefer 750w if you can afford it. You can step back down safely to 650-700W if you wanna keep it stock/"turbo unleashed"

ps: consider purchasing from germany, i heard theyre cheaper but i personally havent gave it a shot.
