I built a PC for the very first time however I'm very unhappy with what I achieved with cable management. I spent hours trying to make it look 'better' but I can't seem to do anything with this.

How bad is this? What should I do to make it look much better?

Well the facing side looks ok, the back is a mess, but then again most systems are.

To improve things would require money, for a fully modular power supply (then only use cables you need) and custom length cables to ease the management.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

What kind of case is that? The board looks tiny inside. It's at least an mATX board, since it has four DIMM slots, but it looks like a mini ITX compared to the case.

It's going to be hard to hide cables if your case is much larger than the board. If it is an mATX, you should really have a compact mid tower.

I have a fully modular but i didn't know what to do to make it look better.

also this connector here, it feels like it shouldn't be here, feels like it's very bent and no way to make it straight because of the stiffness of the cable. should i be worried?

P500. Did I make a poor choice with the case and mobo then?

That is the USB 3.0 cable that connects to (probably) the front USB panel on the case.

If you don't use them, then you can remove that cable from the case.

I wouldn't worry about the angle of the cable.

Oh it's just for the front USB slots? I'll leave it plugged in like that I think if you say its ok. thanks.

Well, it depends. As far as cable management goes, yes. That is in fact a huge case. It's meant for holding a rack of drives and up to EATX sized motherboards. Putting a mATX board in it is definitely going to throw off the look.

That said, there's nothing "wrong" per se. It still work, obviously. You just would've been much better off overall getting a smaller case or an full ATX board.

To be honest I spent a long time searching for a case I wanted. I went with the p500 purely because of the front mesh panel and just looks in general. Sure it looks silly inside but it's just for my own performance. Don't get me wrong if I had the chance I would of re-thinked a little before ordering because it would be nice to have a better looking case inside visually with nice rgb and cables etc but nevermind.

Suggestions:
Get a PCI-E Extension and use that on the GPU.  It'll look nicer in the front, and be cleaner overall.
The ATX 12V should be tied a little farther back in the case, so the cable flips over nicely.

Same for the RGB header at the top.

For the back:

Is there open space in the PSU basement?  Stuffing cables down there is a good call overall.

It seems like there's a LOT of unused PSU cables on the back.

The pictures aren't great for showing what's going on, but that's a start to suggestions.

I think it's a full ATX board, just a really screwy angle.

Notice you can barely see the GPU under the Noctua cooler.

But the bottom edge of the board does seem to match up with the top of the basement housing.
