RAM or mobo?

So I just got a second set of 16gb of ddr4 3600mghz of corsair vengeance pro (2x8gb). The first set I have works fine and the second set I just got works fine too, I tested them in the first channel and second channel for all the RAM, however when I put them together they all argue and cause the pc to restart multiple times and then fail to boot at DOCP setting but seem to work fine at 3200mhz , could this be a power limitation Issue or a bad RAM stick? I don't think it would be the RAM sticks as they are all working fine together showing no issue of running at DOCP, so I am a little confused as to what to do here, any suggestions?

If you're running Ryzen 3000, Ryzen can't really run RAM beyond 3200 MT/s.

I am running mine at 3333 MT/s, but I spent 5 hours tuning it to run at this speed.

Just run it at 3200 you'll be fine. The difference between 3200 and 3600 is 1-2%.

If you're running Ryzen 2000, you can't really get beyond 2666 MT/s with 4 sticks without lots of luck and time.

If you're running Ryzen 1000, you can't really get beyond 2400 MT/s with 4 sticks without lots of luck and time.

If you're running Ryzen 5000, you might be able to get 3400 with 4 sticks, but it's a lot easier on Ryzen's memory controller to run 2 sticks. You can get much higher speeds, too.

??  Ryzen what?  Like ALL ryzen? 1,+,2,&3?  What about that whole “sweet spot” thing and the infinity fabric and some ryzen 3 being able to ru 4000mhz ram but it not being reliably a thing and all that?

So the r7 2700x can either run 4 of them at 3200mhz or 2 of them at 3600mhz? Just curious as to why this is, cuz that seems kinda dumb.

Oh, you're on 2nd gen Ryzen?
Ah, that explains it.

The IMC, or Integrated Memory Controller on Ryzen chips got better over time.

For Ryzen 1000, or Zen, it wasn't very strong and could run RAM at max 2666 MT/s or so.

For Ryzen 2000, or Zen+, it got stronger and pass that, typically running at 3000-3200.

For Ryzen 3000, or Zen 2, it got even stronger and easily ran 3200, with almost all Zen 2 chips capable of 3600.

This repeats with Ryzen 5000 or Zen 3, but with the chips able to reach 3800 MT/s in most cases.

 

Now you've gotten really lucky with your 2700X. Most Zen+ chips can only reach 3200 MT/s or so, but your IMC is behaving like a Zen 2 one.

 

And yes, the fact that Ryzen can run 2 sticks of RAM faster than 4 sticks is stupid. But I'm not a processor engineer (or whatever it's called) so I don't know how to fix it.

As a forum member put it, "Ryzen can have 2 racehorses or 4 oxen."

In this case, just run it at 3200. You won't see much performance loss.

Well now I am shocked that it's tryna be a zen 2 cpu lol, I am playing around with the speeds and so far 3400mhz might be the furthest I can push it, I am gonna do more research as to why Ryzen CPU's are like this and to see if their could be any possible way around this.

I'm honestly curious now too. I've just always accepted that "Zen IMC sucked, Zen+ IMC sucked less, Zen 2 IMC was good, Zen 3 IMC was better" and that "4 sticks will be slower than 2 sticks".
