Whenever i play games, they CTD with very random timings. Sometimes it takes 1 minute, sometimes like 6 hours. It happens at a random place, situation and scenery. I had mostly FH4 crashing on me with nvwgf2umx.dll and PartyXboxLive.dll faulting modules, and RDR2 with only nvwgf2umx.dll. (the error always stays the same in Event Viewer, 0xc0000005). When doing very heavy multitasking (which i do very often), the system runs fluently without any problem at all.

I have:

done a DDU and rolled back my drivers several times.

downloaded literally all of Windows's updates (even the optional ones)

reinstalled C++ Visuals

disabled AppInit.dll in registries

done multiple sfc scans

MemTest86 for about 45 minutes without errors (XMP was on during the test)

searched google and followed several steps countless times.

This issue feels like its impossible to resolve, and therefore i'd appreciate some assistance.

Thank you.

those dlls make me think of it being a direct x problem.

Id redowload directx.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

nvwgf2umx.dll

Seems linked to the latest version of windows 10 (2004 or whatever it's called) causing issues for many people.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

I'm not quite familiar with that.. Would you guide me through the process real quick, please?

I don't believe you can remove direct x from add or remove programs, but you should check there. Search "direct" in add or remove programs, and uninstall all of the ones relating to direct x, direct 3d, or other stuff like that.

Than download the redist from here

I knew i had a feeling that this was caused by Win 10. I've also noticed that this started happening after updating to 20H2. Could rolling back to an older Windows version be another deseperate option to try and resolve my issue?

Well, it couldn't hurt....I mean it's already broken, worst that can happen is it remains broken (then it's nuke n pave time, and install an older version, if you can find one, of Windows 10)

Oh that actually does quite make sense, because i've never ever installed anything related to DirectX, and when i finished installing one of my games, it specifically recommended me to install and update DirectX. I always unchecked that box like a dumb bum.

I'm going to test that out now and see if anything has changed.

Can you try a game that doesn't use direct x?

If you can't fix it,backup important files, wipe the boot drive, then reinstall Windows.

Yeah. But only steam games don't need to be reinstalled. All others will need to be reinstalled.

There's Doom and Doom eternal, both have options for direct x and vulkan.
