Hi, so basically I bought a configured system from CCL Online on September 11th 2019, since then Iv upgraded pretty much everything except PSU, everything is less than a year old. The other day (2 days ago) I was playing Euro Truck and I was streaming and randomly the Computer turned off, Screen went black, no blue screen. The motherboard has rgb and it’s on when it’s turned off, when it turned off the rgb was still on. I was confused, I waited 10 seconds and I tried to turn it on, it came on for a split second, all rgb lit up, fans started spinning then it turned off. I was worried, I turned off the PSU, waited 30 seconds, turned it back on, same thing happens. Then I was even more confused, so I turned off the PSU, unplugged it, waited 5 minutes, plugged it back in, turned the PSU on then I pressed the power button and it all came on normally, I played for a couple hours then went to bed. Next morning I booted it up from 10 am then at around 8pm while playing Rust the Computer turns off again and again I was confused. This time trying to turn it on did nothing at all. So I unplugged it waited 5-10 minutes plugged it in turned it on and it worked again. Then I carried on playing and this time 4 hours later at about midnight it turned off again. It’s becoming more often and I think it’s the power supply. My friend had a power supply issue before and he had the same things happen as me went went through all details with him. I’m ok with buying a new power supply but I need to know 100% if it is the power supply so I don’t waste money. Also other information, seconds before it shut off there’s was no warning, everything was working fine, fps was normal. Temperatures are all normal aswell, I have a water cooler for cpu, cpu runs around 50 degrees while gaming and 70 degrees when it’s at 100% usage for a longer time, GPU runs around 60-68 degrees I haven't seen it ever go above 68. RAM temps are also normal at around 35-40 degrees, VRM temps are also under 50 degrees. Is it the PSU and is it safe to turn it on? My System Specs: Asus X570 Gaming F Motherboard Ryzen 7 5800x Msi 2070 Super Gaming X Trio G Skill Trident Z RGB 32gb 3600mhz

Cooler Master MWE 650w gold PSU

I mean, it does seem like the psu because the entire system turned off under load.

650 Watts is the minimum for the 2070 super so the card might be having power spikes which go above 650 watts, leading to the entire system turning off.

You might want to get a higher wattage power supply like an 800 watt.

Try to get a new psu with the ability to return it so you get your money back if it doesn't fix it.

Hope this fixes your problem

It’s weird tho because Iv had this system for 3 months and it was fine. I ordered a RM750X tho.

I wouldnt risk turning it on because of the components you have.

Ok, it’s not under load by the way, I would be playing for hours and it turns off randomly and everytime it turned off the next time it was within less time.

This may not be your issue but I had my system randomly shutting off completely and it was related to RAM.

Specifically, the RAM was not receiving enough current. I had to go to BIOS and change the DRAM Current Capability from the default 100% to 120% and that completely fixed it for me.

I have an ASUS motherboard however and 4x16GB of RAM and I only had this issue if I populated all of my 4 slots with RAM, it was not doing it when only using 2 sticks of RAM.

That said, your issue may be related to PSU but it also may be the same issue I had... it's really difficult to say with certainty without further testing.

I have 2 RAM sticks (16x2), I got the G.Skill’s not too long ago but yh like I said it was working fine for a while, that’s why I think it’s the psu.

Little more Info that could help, I ran cinebench and it ran fine no issues, I also ran unigine heaven and it was fine. I might try to run 3dmark timespy to see if it goes through that.

I pretty much narrowed down the issue to being DRAM by running Memtest86 from the bootable USB.

This way only the DRAM is under load so the PSU is quite chill and CPU single-threaded load is only applied for the most part.

I just thought back to my first shutdown it was on 31st and I did a gpu driver update I think 30th could this be a bad gpu driver?

I did stress test for 11 minuets and everything seems fine. I’m going to just stay on idle and see if it turns off or not on idle.
