I am new, though have browsed the PSU area for nearly 2 years now (might know me as Test19 from PCPartPicker), and I have an issue with my newer PC. It does a Memory test, then says I have no bootable devices are found. It all started when a Intel BIOS update didn't get loaded for 20 minutes, so I closed the program, but forgot to stop it properly, but figured it would get stopped anyway. Then, when I shut it down, it didn't want to. i also tried to have it restart, no go. So, I had to force it to power off from the button. Then the above message was seen after a restart. This was on 4/1, April Fool's Day, 9PM PDT. Needless to say, this was no fooling around for it.

Things I have tried:

BIOS>Disable Secure Boot>Legacy ROM Option on>Select Legacy>Restart

F2/F9/F10 for a 2nd thing

F2/F10/Del>the correct disk on top (however, I have only 1 HDD in the PC)>save changes>Reboot

Unplug everything and replace the battery

Update the BIOS from F12 (twice)

It does show the HDD in the Diagnostics screen and the BIOS screen (which is a 1 TB Seagate Barracuda Compute), it also shows up when I plugged in the HDD in my old computer. I can also still access it freely though (using the SATA plugs from the ODD part of the PC)

Builds of both PCs for reference:

PC with issues: Inspiron 3650, Intel 5 8400, 12GB 2666 DDR4 RAM (1x4GB+1x8GB), 1TB HDD, Windows 10 version 20H2, Intergrated UHD 630

PC that the HDD does let me see: Inspiron 570, AMD Sempron 140, 2GB 1066 DDR3 (1x2GB), 320GB HDD, Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1, ATI Radeon HD 4200

I have No USB drive (lost right now, is only 1GB anyway), 3650 didn't come with a Windows 10 installation disk (bought from Costco, warranty expired 5/11/20, PC was bought in late 2018)

If needed, I was thinking of unplugging the HDD, and re-adding Windows on a 500GB Western Digital SN750 M.2 SSD (which would cost $173 right now combined from Newegg).

Or building a new PC if required that cost about the same (PC was $600+15 shipping)? (never built a PC, but somewhat like LEGOs, built nearly 500 sets)

Few updates:

Plugs are properly in.

Found USB Drive (was in a chocolate box in desk)

8400 PC no longer does a RAM Test before the HDD issue.

Forgot to add a wifi adapter, so this TP-Link TL-WN881ND PCIe x1 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter for $18 would be added.

I know the password of the Sempron's HDD, but not the 8400's HDD.

The HDD is plugged into a different SATA PWR plug (other one can't get the black piece back in without needing more force), does that change anything?

I also have no Boot tab, just one for "Intel® Rapid Storage Technology", but the HDD is shown there and is the only one as well. Would this be the same as Boot for my PC then?

You've only got 1 HDD right? then yeah

make the usb into a repair tool, boot of it repair the hdd. If that doesn't work do a fresh install.

CHKDSK found no issues.

Does the AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard (which I have installed on the PC I am on right now, the Sempron), cause any data loss when i try to rebuild the MBR for the i5 8400's PC? Just asking before I go any further.

Anyone?

AOMEI is now on the USB (nearly thought I had to get a new one, it is nearly 13 years old!), but unsure what the page means by "Then connect this bootable USB drive to your computer with "no bootable devices found" issue, and boot computer from the bootable media. When you log in, you will be in the main interface of AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard. Now you can rebuild MBR within three steps."
