AVG 2014 Update General Error

AVG 2014 gives an error while trying to update.  It is simply "General Error".  I've tried repairing it with the installer, but that did not work.  I can provide any extra information needed.

 

Specs:

Lenovo Y500

CPU: Intel I7 3630QM

GPU: Nvidia GT750m

Motherboard: ??? Lenovo

Ram: ??? 8 Gigs @ 1800Mhz

Bios:  6BCN44WW(V2.04)

OS:  Windows 8.1

Heck! It's been awhile since I've used AVG. I got rid of it because of all the problems I was having. This was years ago though. It's probably much better now.

ON A 7 MONTH BREAK FROM THESE LTT FORUMS. WILL BE BACK ON NOVEMBER 5th.
