I just build my first computer and it won't boot. The fans start spinning including the ones from my GPU but I get no display. The rgb from my ramsticks also activate. I've tried reslotting my RAM but that didn't help. My monitor is plugged in with an hdmi cable into the GPU.

Also I can't shut it off with the power button. I have to shut off the PSU.

Specs:

- Ryzen 5 3600

- Zotac 1660 super twin fan

- HyperX fury 16gb-3200 mhz (2x8gb)

- Gigabyte B550M DS3H

- Seagate 250 gb m.2 ssd

- Gigabyte P650B power supply

- Sharkoon rgb lit 100

What's the issue with the power button?

Have you double checked all your leads, your ports, so you know for definite it's not a faulty HDMI socket or whatever?

I can turn on the computer with the power button but I can't force close it. I'll be sure to check all my cables and connecters. I don't have a displayport cable right now to check if the hdmi port is defective unfortunatly.

At least if you check all that you know what it isn't...if you see my point?

With anything I go through every link in the chain.

So, first would be check monitor, check leads and cables, the actual ports they go into etc...then do the same on the computer.

Do you have a panel you can remove on the pc so you can look in and make sure nothing has broken off or an input port hasn't come loose?

Once you do that, and assuming they all work with another device (can you test it with a console or something?), you can then assume it's directly related to the computer.

I know you are aware of all this, but it's good practice.
